Seafair Triathlon

I did my first sprint triathlon (.5 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 5k run) at the Seafair Triathlon on Sunday.

I was very satisfied with my time of 1 hour 31 minutes. I had really slow transitions (almost 5 min on the swim to bike!) but there is lots of room for improvement.
Swim: 13:14
Transition: 4:26
Bike: 40:44
Transition: 2:12
Run: 31:23

I had a lot of fun and I saw Jed (volunteering) and Julie on the run. Julie and I were in different waves becasue she was in the 25-29 category while I was in the 24 & under category. Pictures to come soon!

Busy Summer

The summer has finally started in Seattle and there are so many things planned!

Last weekend Julie and Jed did the STP (Seattle to Portland bike race). Kristen and I drove down for the day and spent all day laying out at a pool. It was perfect weather in the nineties (hot for us!) but luckily there was a nice breeze. Anytime we got toasty, we jumped in the pool.

This Sunday (July 20th) is the Seafair Triathalon in Seattle. Julie and I have been training, have rented wetsuits and are ready to go!

July 24-27th Mom, Dad, Krissy, Krissy's bf, Jena and Sean are flying up to join Julie and me in our camping and kayaking adventure in San Juan Island. We are hoping to kayak all day, see some Orca whales and force Mom to take shots of tequila on her 50th birthday.

August 1-3rd Julie, Kara and I will in San Francisco for the San Francisco Half-Marathon. I have been training for this as well and have discovered incredible knee and foot pain which has led to MRI's, bone scans, orthopedics, steroid injections, heavy anti-inflammatory drugs and potential surgery.

August 22-23rd Jack Johnson at the Gorge Amphitheatre. This is an awesome venue where the stage is at the base of a grassy hill that overlooks the Columbia River as the sun sets. Camping overnight = fun times.

September 7th Seattle Escape from the Rock Triathlon on Mercer Island

September 21st Kirkland Triathlon...right in my backyard!!

October 11-19th Vacation in San Diego!! I am so excited to spend a week in SoCal and do the SDG&E Armed Services YMCA 10k Mud Run on Saturday, October 18th.

More to come.....lots of weekends to fill!!
